I never equated my shortness with inability, I did equate it with a factual measurement…and would look at you as if you were an idiot for not knowing this.
.
I also never doubted that I could defend myself no matter how tall the bully was…or that my shortness could only slow down my ability to get the big platter off the top shelf.
.
For some reason when people see a shorter person they never see how strong they are, or that their short person knees can more easily reach their groin.
.
Or that with all of our years of practicing the skills we short people need to live in a tall world, that we have special skills with a broom 🧹, long spoons 🥄, balancing on chairs or stools, and standing on the counter without falling.
.
Or that there are worse things than getting sucker punched, and you don’t want your whole family to find out some lie/truth about you that can’t be proven to be a lie/truth. So that you will forever be known as that horrible thing, true or not. Do you really want your Uncle Barney thinking you got crabs at Clown College?
